Alana Sauerwein mourned

DOWNEY – Alana Sauerwein, of Downey, passed away at home on March 9. She was born May 31, 1947 to the late Edmund and Irene Krams. She graduated from St. Pius X High School and was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish.

She wrote letters to Thomas Sauerwein while he served in the Vietnam War. When he came home, Tom decided to pursue her hand in marriage. They would raise two children together.

Alana is survived by her husband, Tom Sauerwein; brother, Bill Krams (Mary); son, Michael Sauerwein (Tawny); daughter, Kelly Sauerwein (Charlie); and close friends and relatives.

Alana was buried at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach on March 17.
