9-11 concert Sunday at Furman Park

DOWNEY - The city of Downey will honor its public safety personnel with a concert Sept. 11 from 4-7 p.m. at Furman Park.Scheduled speakers include Fire Chief Lonnie Croom, Police Chief Rick Esteves and others. Local band Yard Sale will perform a free concert. "We look forward to celebrating and honoring our public safety heroes who serve and protect our community as we remember the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001," said Mayor Luis Marquez.
