52 artists to be featured in group exhibition at Stay Gallery
DOWNEY — Stay Gallery is pleased to present the fourth annual installation of The Local Group Show, a group art exhibition highlighting the creative diversity of Los Angeles County.
This exhibition features the work and stories of 52 local artists from varying backgrounds, age groups, experience levels and mediums, including painting, illustration, mixed media and photography.
The Local Group Show was first piloted in 2019 as an effort to provide more accessible opportunities for local artists to share and display their work. With 52 participating artists, this year will be the gallery’s largest installation of The Local Group Show to date. Their open call for the exhibition received over 100 artwork submissions from artists across LA County and beyond.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, July 1, from 7-10 pm. The evening will feature plant-based Mexican food by Dear Mama and select craft beer by Brewjeria. Locally made goods will be available for purchase in Stay Gallery’s artisan shop, including art prints, handmade jewelry, ceramics, soy wax candles and a limited selection of poetry books.
The reception welcomes people of all ages and will be open to the public with free RSVP, though donations are appreciated. To learn more and RSVP, please visit: staygallery.org/localgroupshow
After the opening reception, the exhibition will be on view at Stay Gallery (11140 Downey Avenue) from July 1 – Sept. 23 during weekly hours: Wednesday – Friday from 12–6 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.
Admission to Stay Gallery is free during weekly hours.
