2026 Rose Parade theme announced: ‘The Magic in Teamwork’
PASADENA – The Pasadena Tournament of Roses has unveiled the theme for the 137th Rose Parade, set to take place on January 1, 2026.
Newly installed Tournament of Roses President Mark Leavens announced that the theme, “The Magic in Teamwork,” will celebrate the power of collaboration and the remarkable achievements that come from working together.
Leavens emphasized that the 2026 theme reflects the spirit of cooperation that defines both the parade and the broader Pasadena community. “The Magic in Teamwork” highlights the strength found in collective effort, honoring the many organizations, agencies, and community partners who make America’s New Year Celebration possible.
The theme’s official poster features embroidered patches representing public safety agencies, service organizations, and parade participants, symbolizing the collaborative spirit that ensures the event’s success. It also speaks to the everyday moments of teamwork—whether among first responders, volunteers, or neighbors—that create lasting impact.
The selection of this theme comes at a particularly poignant time for Pasadena, following recent community challenges such as the devastating fires in Altadena. Leavens acknowledged the resilience demonstrated by residents, first responders, and volunteers who stepped up in times of need, reinforcing the idea that “The Magic in Teamwork” is more than just a concept—it is a lived reality.
New Leadership for the 2026 Tournament of Roses
In addition to the theme announcement, the Tournament of Roses confirmed its leadership for the 2025-2026 term. Mark Leavens, a dedicated volunteer with the organization since 1995, will serve as President and Chairman of the Board for the 137th Rose Parade and the 112th Rose Bowl Game® presented by Prudential.
Leavens’ long-standing involvement includes leadership roles across various committees, including Parade Operations, Music, and Float Entries. Beyond his work with the Tournament of Roses, he has a deep history of community service, from coaching youth sports to serving as President of the Pasadena Optimist Club. Professionally, he spent over three decades at Nestlé USA, holding leadership roles in marketing and promotions.
The Tournament of Roses also announced that Jim Ciampa has been elected to serve as President in 2033, leading preparations for the 144th Rose Parade and 119th Rose Bowl Game. Ciampa, an attorney specializing in water law and business matters, has been a Tournament volunteer since 1996, contributing to key committees such as Equestrian and Parade Operations.
