Student detained after reports of stabbing at Warren High

DOWNEY — A lockdown at Warren High School has been lifted and all students are safe following an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred on campus Wednesday, with one student arrested and another receiving medical care.

According to Downey Police Department, officers responded to the school at around 12:23 pm following an altercation resulting in one student being stabbed. The suspect was quickly taken into custody and the victim’s injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Normal instruction had resumed as of 2 pm, although parents were given the option to check their children out from school for the remainder of the day.
