Michael Calvert elected to second term as Downey Coordinating Council president

Michael Calvert is administered the oath of office by Martha Sodetani on Wednesday at the Barbara J. Riley Community Center.

DOWNEY – Michael Calvert was installed Wednesday to serve a second consecutive term as president of Downey Coordinating Council.

The Downey Coordinating Council is a monthly gathering of representatives from various civic and service organizations who meet to share information about their events and activities of interest to the public.

Its membership reflects the broad range of organizations and volunteers serving the southeast area.

Calvert is executive director of the Downey Chamber of Commerce. He is also a past president of Downey Los Amigos Kiwanis and served on the Carpenters 55th anniversary committee.
