DOWNEY - Downey will host its annual tree-lighting ceremony this Monday from 6-8:30 p.m. outside City Hall.The free event features entertainment from local schools, a snow play area, arts and crafts, and photos with Santa Claus. The actual tree-lighting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefitting the Downey Rose Float Association. The city's fire department will also be present, collecting new, unwrapped toys for donation to local needy families.
