DOWNEY - International Observe the Moon Night will be celebrated at the Columbia Memorial Space Center on Oct. 12, an event highlighting the moon in all its glory.Guests will have an opportunity to view the moon through several different telescopes (weather permitting), participate in activities and enjoy giveaways. There will also be a presentation, titled "From Formation to Exploration," explaining the formation of the moon and how it affects our daily lives. The event is sponsored by the space center and the Columbia Astronomers Club. It is from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Admission is $5 except for space center members, who get in free.
