DOWNEY - A senior health and wellness expo is taking place Friday, Dec. 6, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center.Seniors can learn about chronic disease management and healthy living, get specific medical questions answered and explore options for the best Medicare plan that meets their health needs. Susan Kawakami, MD, will address the different types of arthritis along with treatment plans, medications and at-home remedies. Martha Rodriguez, MD, will discuss "how to have a healthy heart." Also on-hand will be representatives from the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association, hiHealth Innovations, Los Angeles County Community & Senior Services Agency, Rose Hills, Southern California Edison and the California Telephone Access Program.
