Three Downey students received scholarships from the Cuban American Teachers Association last week during a ceremony at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello. Brittany Alfaro and Yander Salgado, of Warren High, and Naomi Frontela, of Downey High, were among 17 Southern California students to receive scholarships.
