DOWNEY − Downey Adult School’s VN program has been named the top Hispanic-friendly practical nursing program in L.A. County, according to the Practical Nursing Organization. The program was also ranked No. 2 in California and No. 6 in the nation.

The recognition was for Downey Adult School’s ability to attract, retain and graduate its Hispanic students.

“In order to better serve students of Hispanic and Latino ancestry, we have retooled our curriculum and marketing strategies to better target this population,” school officials said in a statement.
