DOWNEY – DUSD’s True Lasting Connections recently partnered with non-profit Foundation 4Life to donate more than 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students in need. TLC works with more than 50 agencies that provide support to DUSD students and their families, “ensuring that each student receives the physical and emotional support needed.”

Foundation 4Life was established in 2006.

On July 28, the two organizations, along with six TLC families and approximately 60 volunteers from other non-profit groups, packaged more than 100 backpacks in an assembly line fashion.

Each student in attendance took home a new backpack filled with age-appropriate school supplies and other items.

Remaining items were made available to other students involved in the TLC program.
