Marie Dorin passed away September 17, 2014 at home with her family at her bedside. Marie was very ill this past year and for the last 3 months was under the care of Hospice. She was born in New York City, got married to her childhood sweetheart Joey on Oct. 25 1952, had a daughter Deborah and son Philip, then moved to California in 1957, bought a house in Downey in 1962, and was blessed with 5 more children named: Barbara, Gary, Sandra, David and Amy. She has 4 grandchildren named: Caine, Gabriel, Tiffany, Garret, one great grandchild named Londyn and 4 step grandchildren named: Brittany, Kimberly, Brandon and Ryan..

She worked in Stonewood’s JCPenny for 18 years retiring in 1995. Among her activities: she loved going on many bus trips with her husband and senior citizens groups. She loved to sew, knit, embroidery and crochet, and was a member of the Quilters Guild. She delivered meals to seniors for Meals-on-Wheels. She loved to go bowling and play volleyball. She was a volunteer at the veterans hospital.
