Jose Meza, who has spent the last four years as a volunteer Downey police explorer, will leave for military training Monda. Meza, who joined the Marines, will be the first in his family to serve in the military. He’s the only son of Aida Flores, of Downey. “Good luck, our future Marine, we are so proud of you,” she said. Meza is pictured with his family.
