DOWNEY – Downey resident James R. Allen passed away Aug. 27 while on a cruise to Alaska. He was born in Sevier County, Tenn., on Nov. 4, 1931 and served his country during the Korean War.

He was predeceased by daughter Laurie Ann Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, John (Janice) and Walter; grandchildren, Preston (Ashley), Ashley, Andrew, James and Wyatt; and great-granddaughter, Haley.

He was buried Sept. 6 in the Allen Cemetery in Sevierville, Tenn.
