Golf tournament raises $250K for PIH

WHITTIER – A recent golf tournament at Friendly Hills Country Club raised $250,000 for a nursing education program at PIH Health, the hospital announced. Since the Frank Scott Pro/Am Golf Tournament began 21 years ago, more than $1.6 million has been raised for PIH Health.

“We take pride in our nursing education program at PIH Health,” said Amy Fitzgerald, executive director, PIH Health Foundation. “PIH Health nurses are an important part of why we are the leader in healthcare services for our community.”

The purpose of the nursing education program is to assist nurses in furthering their education, to help in the recruitment of outstanding nurses and to retain the exemplary staff that already works at PIH Health, hospital officials said.

PIH Health invests millions each year in the community to support those with the greatest need.

“The impact of philanthropy is vital to our service area, and key to PIH Health’s mission,” officials said.
