Downey’s International Food Festival is Saturday

DOWNEY – The city’s International Food Festival, previously known as the Taste of Downey, will take place this Saturday night in Downtown Downey. In addition to local restaurants, the festival will feature food trucks, artists, face-painting, and more than a dozen live bands.

Participating restaurants include Wingstop, Corleone Italian Restaurant, Chinese Gourmet Express, Sunny’s Sushi & Grill, Frantone’s Pizza, Tacos Don Javi, Bionicos Plus, Dunkin’ Donuts, and more.

Food trucks include the Carl’s Jr’s Star Diner, Cambalachesla (Argentinean), Curbsidecraving (Filipino), La Panini Grill, Dia De Los Puercos, Yogasaki, and Streets of Thailand.

Situated on Downey Avenue between 2nd and 4th streets, the festival will have two concert stages: the main stage and also a world stage.

Main stage schedule:

Per Se the Band                       4-4:45 p.m.

Jaguar                          5:15-6:15 p.m.

Sonsoles                                  6:45-7:45 p.m.

Salt Petal                                 8:15-9:15 p.m.

Kool Cats                                9:45-11:15 p.m.

World stage schedule:

ZaZa Dancers                          4-4:45 p.m.

Rustic Rye                               5:15-6 p.m.

Rockin Piano                           6:30-7:15 p.m.

Alturas Music                          7:45-8:45 p.m.

Polynesian Paradise Dancers   9:15-10 p.m.

When Pigs Fly                         10:30-11:15 p.m.

In addition to the concert stages, there will also be traditional Greek music and Bolivian street performers.

The film “Chicago” will be screened starting at 9 p.m.
