Crime Report

Thursday, Aug. 28 At 4:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of 11000 Paramount Blvd., regarding a robbery investigation. Officers spoke with the victims who said two males attempted to rob them as they were walking. One of the suspects brandished a pocket knife and punched and kicked one of the victims, but then fled without stealing anything. Nobody was seriously injured. Detectives are investigating.

 

Friday, Aug. 29

At 9:00 p.m., a parked vehicle was impounded in the area of Everest and Benedict for having its registration expired over 6 months. During a search of the vehicle by K-9 Dash, a secret compartment was found along with approximately 10 pounds of methamphetamine. Detectives are investigating.

 

Saturday, Aug. 30

At 7:00 a.m., officers responded to the 9600 block of Telegraph Road regarding a robbery investigation. Officers spoke with the victim who reported two men approached him, exhibited a handgun, and proceeded to remove his personal belongings from his pockets. The suspects then ran away with the stolen property, but did not injure the victim. Detectives are investigating.

 

At 1:00 p.m., an officer arrested a man for a burglary he committed back in July after the officer recognized the suspect from a police bulletin. The officer saw the suspect in the area of Patton & Albia when she recognized him and arrested him. The suspect was booked for burglary and transported to the Los Angeles County Jail.

 

Sunday, Aug. 31

At 1:30 a.m., officers arrested a male suspect at his apartment in the 7400 block of Firestone. The suspect became upset during an argument with his girlfriend and lit her clothes on fire in the bedroom closet. The fire department responded to extinguish the fire and the suspect was booked for arson. Detectives are conducting follow-up investigation.
