Crime Report

Thursday, April 10 At approximately 9:00 a.m., Downey officers assisted a local narcotics task force serving a search warrant at a residence in the 8600 block of Cheyenne. An indoor marijuana growing operation was discovered and approximately 40 plants were seized.

 

At 5:45 p.m., the westbound 105 freeway was closed for a few hours at Paramount Blvd. when a subject threatened to jump from the overpass. Downey officers assisted the Sheriff’s Department and CHP. After an extended period of time, the subject was safely taken into protective custody.

 

At approximately 6:30 p.m., Officers responded to Furman Park regarding a robbery investigation. Officers spoke with the victim who reported he was assaulted and robbed of personal belongings. Officers searched the area and located three suspects and they were placed under arrest.

 

Friday, April 11

At 1:40 p.m., Officers responded to the Metro PCS store at 7814 Florence, regarding a robbery investigation. The store employees reported a male suspect entered the store with a handgun and demanded money. The victims complied with the suspect demands and the suspect ran out of the store with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Detectives are investigating.

 

Saturday, April 12

At 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance at the Glen Bar, 7356 Stewart & Gray Rd. An intoxicated and belligerent subject was pepper sprayed and detained by security. The subject continued to be uncooperative when officers arrived and was arrested for disorderly conduct.
