DOWNEY – The city of Downey has volunteer opportunities available for middle school and high school students. High school students assist within City Hall’s various department offices, including Building & Planning, Engineering, Human Resources, Fire Prevention, and Purchasing.

Both middle school and high school students also assist at city-wide special events, youth programs and local parks, and at summer day camps.

Interest forms, available online at downeyca.org and at the Parks & Recreation Office at Apollo Park, are due at a mandatory training meeting Wednesday, April 23, at 4:30 p.m. at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center.
