Crime Report

Thursday, Feb. 20At 7:15 a.m., employees discovered a burglary had occurred at 12214 Lakewood Blvd. (Downey Studios). The suspect broke in through a glass door and construction equipment was taken. Forensics Unit responded and conducted an investigation. Detectives are investigating.

At 11 a.m., a resident called to report the sound of glass breaking next door at a neighbor's residence and saw a male subject leaving the residence on a bicycle. Officers responded to the 11000 block of Dalwood and confirmed the home had been burglarized. Officers detained the suspect as he attempted to flee the area. The suspect was in possession of stolen property and was arrested. Additional stolen items were recovered from the suspect's home. Friday, Feb. 21 At 2 a.m., officers responded to 8832 Imperial Hwy. (Wet Bar) regarding a disturbance. When officers arrived they spoke with witnesses who reported two female adults were involved in a physical altercation. Both females were identified and arrested for fighting in a public place.

At 2 a.m., officers responded to the area of Bellflower Blvd. and Imperial Hwy. regarding a strong arm robbery investigation. When officers arrived they spoke with the victim who reported he was assaulted outside Jack in the Box by three acquaintances who took his cell phone and debit card. The suspects ran away with the victim's property. Detectives are investigating.

At 6 p.m., officers responded to the 7700 block of Luxor regarding a burglary investigation. When officers arrived they met with witnesses who reported seeing two male suspects in the rear yard of a residence. Officers checked the area and the suspects ran from officers as they attempted to speak with them. The officers eventually arrested the suspects as they exited another residence in the nearby area. They were booked for burglary.

At 9:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of Bixler St. and Golden Ave. regarding a fight between numerous subjects. As officers arrived they were contacted by a male who had been stabbed several times. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. There were no other victims and Downey detectives are investigating.

At 10:30 p.m., officers responded to an alarm call at Downey Studios (12214 Lakewood Blvd.) and detained a male subject next to a window which had been propped open. A duffle bag containing cutting tools and a wheelbarrow full of copper wire was located nearby. The suspect was arrested for burglary. Information provided by Downey Police Department.
