Abraham (A. T.) Jerry Apidgian

Longtime Downey resident, Abraham (A.T.) Jerry Apidgian, of Huntington Beach, California, passed away at age 90 on March 15, 2014, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born in Fresno, California on December 22, 1923. He graduated from Fresno Technical High School before serving his country in World War II, in the Ninth Air Force, 468th Fighting Group.

Jerry married his beautiful bride Jeanne in 1949. They had three children: Lynda, Michael, and Cynthia.

For over 40 years, Jerry worked as a successful general building contractor, establishing Apidgian Construction Company in 1964. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, ballroom dancing, and old time gospel music.

Jerry is survived by Jeanne, his wife of 65 years; sister Margaret Whalen; daughters Lynda Rutherford (Gary) and Cynthia Lee (Sid), son Michael; his grandchildren Lyndsy, Gina, Bryanne, Sasha, Larisa; and his great-grandson Brody Seth.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, California. Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Kidney Foundation.
