Dear Editor:Congratulations to Carol Kearns and Bea Romano for co-founding the Make Music Downey festival last Saturday. Our downtown felt vibrant and bustled with a rainbow of Downey residents and visitors enthralled with the performers and the music. Mayor Mario Guerra has issued a well-deserved Certificate of Appreciation to Carol Kearns and Bea Romano. My thanks to the "miracle workers", the myriad of community churches, businesses and volunteers responsible for manifesting the Make Music Downey festival. Mayor Guerra: Carol Kearns deserves a key to the city for this effort and her pivotal role in increasing the qualify of life in Downey with her ongoing and superior journalism support the arts in Downey.
