MacLeod Thiessen, 89, was Pearl Harbor survivor

HACIENDA HEIGHTS - MacLeod Chris Thiessen, an Air Force veteran who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor, died March 4 at age 89.He was born Nov. 30, 1923 in Lewiston, Idaho to George and Blanche (Mounce) Thiessen. He served in the Army Air Force and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, during the attack in 1941. After an honorable discharge, he worked 42 years as a property manager for Prudential Insurance Company. He and his wife were married on June 15, 1962 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Thiessen is survived by his wife, Betty; and sons, Mark and Scott. No services are planned at this time.
