DOWNEY - Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Joseph Anthony Farruggia, who passed away peacefully Sunday at his Downey home surrounded by family.He was born March 30, 1941 to Joseph and Anna Farruggia in Akron, Ohio. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara, in 1962. Togethery they had two children, Michael and Diana. They later were blessed with two grandchildren, Ryan and Sophia. Joseph was a typesetter by trade for more than 40 years. Following his father's lead, he was involved in the technical work and management of Vogue, Duraset and M&W Typography. He restored his 1929 Model A Ford and went on family road trips in his spare time. A memorial service will be held at Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary this Tuesday, July 2, at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family recommended donations to the American Cancer Society.
