DOWNEY - Now through June 3, members of the public are invited to examine textbooks being considered by the school board for use in high school AP social studies classes.The textbooks are in alignment with state standards, district officials said. Copies of the textbooks are on display in the second floor lobby of the Gallegos Administration Center, 11627 Brookshire Ave., weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The school board is slated to adopt the books at its June 4 meeting. Criticism of the books must be submitted to the superintendent by May 28.
