DOWNEY - The Covenant Educational Foundation, a Los Angeles-based non-profit dedicated to providing "a balanced science education to impoverished high school students in Africa," is hosting a fundraising dinner Friday, July 19, from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Rio Hondo Event Center.Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the door. Dress code is business attire. Since 2006, the foundation says it has been sponsoring the teaching of physics in three African high schools.
