Sunday, June 9At 10:00 p.m., a home was burglarized in the 10400 block of Wiley Burke by an unknown male. The victim arrived home and observed the suspect running through the house, into the backyard, and then over a brick wall. Detectives are investigating.
Tuesday, June 11 At 4:19 p.m., a robbery occurred in the 8800 block of Imperial Highway. The victim reported a suspect walked into the business and brandished a knife. The suspect demanded money and the victim complied. The suspect ran out of the location with the money and out of sight. No injuries were reported. Detectives are investigating.
Wednesday, June 19 At 6:04 p.m., officers responded to the 9300 block of Elm Vista regarding a residential burglary. Officers spoke with the resident who reported an unknown suspect(s) had broken into his apartment and removed several items. Detectives responded along with the Forensics Unit. Investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, June 23 At 3:50 a.m., residents inside an apartment in the 11900 block of Old River School Rd. were awakened by noises coming from their front porch. As they exited, they saw two adult suspects attempting to steal their bicycles. A brief struggle occurred and the victims were able to detain one of the suspects. Officer arrested the suspect and the second suspect was able to run from the scene and was not located. Detectives are investigating.
At 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a traffic accident in the 7900 block of Puritan. When officers arrived they located the driver who was attempting to walk away from the scene. An investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
At 11:30 p.m., an officer was conducting extra patrol in Rio San Gabriel Park when he observed a subject inside the park. Upon contacting the transient suspect, the officer immediately noticed approximately 250 feet of bare copper wire lying on the grass. The wire had apparently been removed from the electrical box used to illuminate the softball field. The suspect was arrested and booked. Information provided by Downey Police Department.
