DOWNEY - First Baptist Church of Downey is hosting its Family First Wednesday Night Summer program, starting June 26 and continuing weekly through Aug. 28.Residents are invited to meet for dinner ($15 per family) followed by short Bible study and family fun. The series begins Wednesday with "Drive-In Movie Night," in which participants build a cardboard car and "drive in" for a family-friendly movie and popcorn. Also on the schedule is "Wild, Wild Wheels Night" on July 10, where participants are encouraged to bring scooters, bicycles, tricycles and skates to compete in an age-appropriate obstacle course. All activities are designed for participation from the whole family; children can not be dropped off. The only cost is dinner.
