Arc earns highest accreditation

DOWNEY - The Arc Los Angeles & Orange Counties has earned the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded by CARF International, an independent accreditor of health and human services.CARF awarded a three-year accreditation in Community Employment and Organization Employment Services, which covers The Arc's employment center and vocation education center, including the Southeast Industries packaging and assembly plant. It is the seventh consecutive three-year accreditation The Arc has earned. To earn the accreditation, The Arc put itself through a rigorous peer review process and demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services "are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable." "We are proud to receive the highest accreditation and our thanks go to the outstanding staff that keep the services going every day, a dedicated board of directors and a community that supports people with disabilities," said Ray Brown, president of The Arc. The Arc is a private, non-profit organization that provides services for people with intellectual and development disabilities. Its offices are located in Downey.
