DOWNEY - Gary Nesbit and Mark Sauter were presented with two of the Downey YMCA's top awards for community service during the Y's 71st annual installation dinner on Sept. 27.Nesbit received the Red Triangle Award for Service to the YMCA while Sauter earned the Distinguished Service Award for length and breadth of service. The awards are the highest recognition bestowed on people for outstanding service to the YMCA. "Gary Nesbit and Mark Sauter have been outstanding YMCA and community leaders," said Steve Roberson, Downey YMCA board chair. "As a result, they have touched the lives of thousands of children in the process." The YMCA also installed its newest board members: Mayor Roger Brossmer, Nader Moghaddam, Jeannette Baumann, Brian Saeki, Cashmere Wielenga and Scott Winningham.
