Wilma Lynn Benson, 80, was born on August 6, 1944, in West Virginia to Seymore Quinton Cales and Mary Ethel Brandon, and entered eternal rest on October 18, 2024, in Whittier, California.

Wilma was a devoted receptionist for the Los Angeles County Mental Health Department for over ten years. Known for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication, Wilma served as a vital support to both her colleagues and the individuals seeking assistance in the community.

Wilma’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. In her spare time, Wilma enjoyed listening to country music, antique shopping, and decorating her home.

Her Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, from 11am-2pm at Risher Montebello Mortuary, 1316 Whittier Bl., Montebello, CA 90640, with the Funeral Service taking place at 12pm.

Wilma is survived by her loving family: Husband, Thomas B. Benson, Sons, Scott Larison (Serah) of Long Beach, Shawn Larison (Holly) of Pinon Hills, and Eric Larison (Shannon) of Russell Springs, KY, Step-Son, Ryan Benson of Wildomar, Grandchildren, Avery Larison and Ella Larison of Russell Springs, Ky, and Rachael Larison of Long Beach, and her Great Grandson, Lane Newland, and Siblings, Patty Nagahama, Janice Rain, and Melvin Cales (Mary). Wilma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Wilma was greeted at Heaven’s Gate by her granddaughter, Candace Newland.
