DOWNEY — There will be 15 non-profit organizations selling safe and sane fireworks throughout Downey starting this Saturday.

Those groups and their locations are:

• Calvary Chapel, located at 12808 Woodruff Ave., in the Calvary Chapel parking lot

• Desert Reign Church, located at 7915 Florence Avenue, in the south parking lot of CVS y Mas

• Downey Free Methodist Church, located at 9245 Florence Ave., in the church parking lot

• Foursquare Church, located at 8008 Firestone Blvd., in the CVS parking lot

• Downey High School Band Boosters, located at 8320 Firestone Blvd., in the Grocery Outlet parking lot

• Dios Con Nosotros, located at 7502 Florence Ave., in the Del Rio Lanes parking lot

• Job’s Daughters Downey, located at 10231 Lakewood Blvd., in the Pep Boys parking lot

• St. Pius X – St. Mathias Academy, located at 7851 Gardendale Ave., in the high school parking lot

• Warren High School Music Parent Association, located at 9001 Apollo Way, in the Walmart parking lot

• Downey Rose Float Association, located at 9200 Lakewood Blvd., in the Ralphs parking lot

• Warren High School Athletic Department, located at 8626 Firestone Blvd., in the Ralph’s parking lot

• West Downey Little League, located 7399 Stewart and Gray Rd., in the A&T Mart parking lot

• St. Raymond Catholic Church, located at 12348 Paramount Blvd., in the church parking lot

• Elks Lodge #2020, located at 11233 Woodruff Ave., in the Elks Lodge parking lot

• Downey Better Baseball, located at 251 Stonewood St., in the Stonewood Mall parking lot off of Firestone.

State Fire Marshall approved “safe and sane” fireworks may only be discharged between the hours of 3 -10 pm on July 4. Fines for discharge of illegal fireworks begin at $2,000 for first offense.
