CERRITOS – Grammy Award-nominated singer Ruben Studdard will pay tribute to the legendary Luther Vandross at a concert Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. 

Studdard will perform the late Vandross’ hits, including “Always and Forever” and “Here and Now.” 

Nicknamed the “Velvet Teddy Bear,” Studdard rose to prominence after winning “American Idol” in 2003. His first album, “Soulful,” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. 

His 2004 album “I Need an Angel” was named Album of the Year by Billboard. Studdard also starred in the Broadway production “Ain’t Misbehavin,’ which spawned a Grammy-nominated soundtrack.
