DOWNEY — Downey Memorial Christian Church invites the public to a bilingual bible study class presented by Rev. Dr. Jose Morales, assistant professor of historical and comparative theology at Claremont School of Theology. 

The reverend will speak on the Gospel of St. Matthew on Sundays from 12:30-1:45 p.m., starting Jan. 26 and through Feb. 23. 

“His energy and passion for theological education in service of the church and the world are unstoppable and inspiring,” Jon Berquist, president of Disciples Seminary Foundation, said of Morales. “I’ve watched as he developed his scholarly capacities and received excellent reviews among his students as a superb teacher.” 

The class will take place in Robinson Hall at Downey Memorial Christian Church, 8441 Florence Ave.
