The Downey Kiwanis Foundation awarded scholarships to more than 25 students at its June 11 meeting at the Rio Hondo Event Center. Among the scholarships was the Sean Feliciano Memorial Scholarship, named in honor of the late Downey High School student. Classmates of Feliciano came up with the idea of a scholarship honoring their friend and collected $125. The Kiwanis Club pitched in to make the scholarship a full $500.
