Stuart Finck, Retired Police Captain, Mourned. Stuart J. Finck, age 78, died on October 21, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, from complications following ulcer surgery.

Stuart Jon Finck was born on April 13, 1936, in the Bronx. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 and later graduated from UCLA. Stuart joined the LAPD in February 1961 and married the love of his life, George Anne Kaufman, in December 1963. Stuart and George made their loving home in Downey, along with their three children, Jon, Cat and Tony. Stuart retired from the LAPD at the rank of Captain in February 1991.

Stuart’s life was changed when his beloved wife of 36 years died on April 19, 2001. Although losing his wife left a tremendous void in Stuart’s life, he enjoyed his retirement years working out at the Downey YMCA, traveling with his companion Billie Prince, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons Jon and Tony, his daughters Catherine and Cindy, and his grandchildren Nathan, Andrew, Samantha, Jamison, Donovan, Michaela and Branaghan.

A memorial service will be held on November 2 at 3:00pm at the home of Mel and Cat Durant in Riverside, Ca.
