DOWNEY - The street artist known as Bumblebeelovesyou struck again this week, painting an 18-ft. tall mural (with permission) on the side of a hair salon on 2nd Street in Downey.The piece is titled "Slices" and shows a young girl cutting her own hair with a blank stare. "It represents Downey's present and future acceptance of the arts, while the orange pattern on the dress reminisces of the orange orchards of Downey's past," the artist wrote in an e-mail. A short documentary on Bumblebeelovesyou will be screened at the Epic Lounge on Aug. 19 starting at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
