Singing legend Johnny Mathis brings tour to Cerritos Center

CERRITOS – Crowned “the quintessential romantic singer” by the Los Angeles Times, music legend Johnny Mathis returns to the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Saturday, Sept. 9, as part of his “The Voice of Romance Tour.”

The concert begins at 8 pm. Tickets start at $89.

Mathis will deliver his classic songs, including “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late” and “Love Never Felt So Good.”

Over the course of his 68-year career, Mathis, 87, has performed songs in an incredible variety of styles and categories – from music composed for stage and film to golden-era Jazz standards, contemporary pop hits, and holiday music.

He has recorded more than 80 albums, scoring 50 hits on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary Chart, and ranking as the all-time No. Six album artist in the history of Billboard’s Pop charts.

Mathis was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the Society of Singers’ Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mathis was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame with the hits “Chances Are,” “It’s Not for Me to Say,” and “Misty.”

Mathis and his music have been featured in numerous films and television shows, including “Lizzie,” “The Tonight Show,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” “Family Ties,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” and “Mad Men.”
