Services held for Del Kay, 70
DOWNEY - Former Downey resident Del Key died Jan. 21 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. He was 70.Key was born in Merced, Calif., in 1940 and spent all his life in California prior to moving to Missoula. He was a principal construction inspector with the city of Los Angeles for 34 years, and attended his 50th high school reunion in Anaheim in 2009. He and his wife, Karen, moved to Missoula six years ago to be near their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Shortly after arriving, Key began volunteering with Missoula Aging Services, the Missoula Food Bank and for a homework club at Russell Elementary School. He was honored as Mentor of the Year for Montana in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Jason, and his wife, Heather; daughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Don; and two grandsons, Jackson and Oliver. Services were held Tuesday at the University Congregational Church in Missoula with a reception following. Garden City Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
