WHITTIER – During her time at Santa Fe High School, senior Analyse Garcia has developed an unparalleled drive and profound focus for success. A quiet leader, Garcia’s concentration on academics, community service, athletics and extracurricular activities have earned her respect, recognition and admiration from her peers, school and District.

Garcia, who carries a 4.12 GPA and places in the top 5 percent of Santa Fe’s senior class, was recognized by the Whittier Union High School District Board of Trustees with a Certificate of Merit on April 10.

“Santa Fe has truly prepared me for my next journey, to attend a four-year university, where I will continue to strive for success and further my leadership within the school community,” Garcia said. “I would like to thank the teachers, staff and students of Santa Fe for positively impacting my last four years, as well as my family for all of their support.”

When Garcia began her freshman year at Santa Fe, she enrolled in one Honors class and joined the school’s Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) college preparatory program. She has since completed 14 Honors/Advanced Placement courses, as well as a dual enrollment course through Rio Hondo College. She is on the road to completing two additional AP courses.

“Analyse brings an intense focus to all she does,” Santa Fe AVID teacher Alejandra Gonzalez said. “She may be perceived as quiet by many, but her accomplishments in class, on the field and in the community are gently bold, insistent on high quality and thunderous in success. She is inspiring.”

Garcia plans to study nursing and pursue a career as a neonatal nurse specialist. She has volunteered at several area hospitals and healthcare facilities, currently spending her Friday nights assisting at the front desk at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower.

Active as a member of the Principal’s Honor Court, Black and Gold Nation, Daisy Chain and Chieftain Friends, Garcia also has been a Girl Scout for nine years, building confidence in young women and encouraging them to do good work through community service.

Garcia is also a two-sport athlete who competes at the varsity level in softball and volleyball. As a sophomore, Garcia was MVP of the Santa Fe softball team as well as Del Rio League Pitcher of the Year.

She is still deciding which university she will attend: UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine or the University of San Diego.

“Because of her strong work ethic, drive and desire for success, we know Analyse will be successful in whatever path she takes,” Santa Fe Principal Craig Campbell said. “We are very proud of Analyse. She is an amazing woman who exemplifies everything we want from a graduate of Santa Fe High School and the Whittier Union High School District.”
