DOWNEY — Rep. Robert Garcia will meet with Downey elected leaders today to discuss federal funding opportunities for local projects.

The meeting begins at 1:30 pm inside the council chambers. It is open to the public.

City council members previously expressed a desire for funding to expand the Columbia Memorial Space Center.

Garcia, a Democrat, was elected to Congress last November. His newly-drawn district includes Downey.
