Recording police
Dear Editor: Police brutality and corruption is out of control in America. I salute the good officers, but with the good come those that are not so good.
I believe we should have transparency in government, too many of our rights are being violated by law enforcement on a daily basis and we need protection.
I am very pleased that state Sen. Ricardo Lara has introduced SB411. It is a California bill that would protect civilians recording police activity. The time has come to police the police, as well as putting a stop to their use of lethal force on our pets and our unarmed humans.
I have said this before and I will say it again, this isn’t Nazi Germany or Mexico, this is the United States of America, and don’t you forget that we have rights in this country, and that we must stay vigilant because there is a force that is working very hard to make sure that we are stripped of our constitutional rights.
While our troops are in foreign countries fighting terrorism, the citizens in this country are fighting terrorism by those that took an oath to serve and protect us. I am sure that our Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves.
