Downey resident Randy Davis, along with his son-in-law, Navy Petty Officer David Saavedra, is pictured on the flight deck of the naval aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, in route from Pearl Harbor to San Diego.The Navy allows family and friends of sailors to sail home on a "Tiger Cruise" as Navy ships make their way home from deployment. The USS Carl Vinson has been on deployment since November 2011 and spent time in the Persian Gulf as well as visiting several ports throughout the world.
