Patricia Marie (Hawkins) Wilson

June 28, 1931 - November 6, 2022

Patricia Marie (Hawkins) Wilson, a 76-year resident of Downey, passed away on November 6. She was 91 years old.

She was born in Los Angeles on June 28, 1931, to parents Katherine C. Hawkins (nee O’Leary) of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, and Robert Teddy Hawkins of Sydney, Arkansas.

She graduated from Downey High School in 1949. She married her husband William P. Wilson, a World War II Purple Heart-decorated veteran and graduate of Loyola Law School who was starting out as a young lawyer, in 1953. Her husband was integral in forming Downey Community Hospital and practiced law in Downey for 40 years.

She worked for the Downey Unified School District for 15 years, retiring at age 70. She was active with the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Women’s Guild, the Kidney Foundation, Meals on Wheels, and the Living Help Center.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband William P. Wilson in 1990 and their treasured son Timothy in 1955.

She is survived by her sister Roberta Hawkins (Downey High School Class of 1951), children Daniel Wilson, Katie Raya, and Michael Wilson, son-in-law Andy Raya, grandchildren Lauren Aguilera, Emily Miller, and Nathan Raya, and great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Peyton Aguilera.

A funeral service was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on December 12.
