More than 30 companies expected at job fair

DOWNEY – Light and Life Church in Downey is hosting a job fair with at least 30 participating employers Tuesday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The employers will have job openings in accounting, administration, clerical, customer service, education, financial services, healthcare and nursing, law enforcement, management, manufacturing, non-profit, sales, and more.

"Our focus is trying to be not just a church in the community, but a church of the community," said Pastor Kevin Boyce. "We don't want to just invite them on Sunday, we want to reach out to them and go to them."

The job fair is free for job-seekers. To register, go to lightandlifechurch.org or call (562) 862-0910.

The church is located at 9245 Florence Ave., across the street from Doty Middle School.
