Five things to know this Monday morning:  1.) UFC fighter Dan Henderson, a native of Downey, suffered a first round knockout against Gegard Mousasi on Saturday night. Despite losing five of his last six fights, and being 44 years old, Henderson says he has no plans to retire.

2.) A woman wanted on assault charges led CHP officers on a high-speed pursuit Saturday afternoon that ended in Downey. A young boy was inside the vehicle during the chase, but he was unharmed. Press-Telegram

3.) Open enrollment in the Downey Unified School District opens Feb. 2.

Open enrollment, also called "School of Choice," allows Downey parents to sign up their children at schools outside their boundary areas.

Applications are available at all Downey schools and at the DUSD district office. Applications should be turned in at the district office by Feb. 27 at 4 p.m.

A lottery will be held to place students on a waiting for the 2015-16 school year, and schools may accept students from those waiting lists according to priority, but only if space is available. For questions or more information, call the Office of Student Services at (562) 469-6550.

4.) Save the date: Mayor Luis Marquez will deliver the State of the City on Wednesday, March 4, at the Rio Hondo Event Center. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased from the Downey Chamber of Commerce.

5.) Registration is now being taken for the third annual Healthy Downey 5K benefiting the TLC Center. The run/walk is Saturday, April 18. For details, click here.
