UPDATE: The grand opening has been pushed back to Feb. 10.

DOWNEY –  MOD Pizza will open Feb. 5 at the Downey Promenade, the pizza chain announced. 

The restaurant will open at noon, and the first 52 guests will receive free pizza or salad, and a chance to win free pizza for a year. 

All proceeds from pizza sales on opening day will be donated to Brotherhood Crusade, which provides assistance to low-income and underserved members of local communities.

Founded in 2008, MOD Pizza serves individual artisan-style pizzas that are made on demand. Customers create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of over 30 toppings.
