CERRITOS - The Miss Cerritos Contest, in which young women compete to represent the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce as an ambassador for one year, will take place March 20.Miss Cerritos is not a pageant, organizers said. Instead, it is described as a "professional development opportunity for...professional, outgoing, responsible, articulate young women." To compete, women must live, work or go to school in Cerritos, or work for a business that belong to the Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce; must be a high school graduate or equivalent; and be no older than 27. The contest takes place from 5-7 p.m. at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. To participate, call the chamber at (562) 467-0800.
