Mildred Sader was active in community

DOWNEY -- Mildred Corinne Sader, a Downey resident since 1954, has passed away.She was born in Minneapolis, Minn. in 1909 and came to California in 1930. Her husband, Clayton, died in 1978. She was employed by Bullocks Department Store and later by Goodyear Tire and Rubber in payroll until her retirement. Since moving to Downey, she was a member of Downey United Methodist Church and served as president of the Wesleyan Service Guild. She was also a member of many circles, committees and the Crusaders Sunday school class. Sader was also a member of several local service organizations, including P.E.O., Downey Woman's Club, the Downey Symphony Guild, Sons or Norway and Job's Daughters. She also played the piano and sang. Sader was predeceased by her parents, Chris and Amelia Hansen, and sister, Evelyn McDonald. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Sader, of Downey; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was laid to rest at Rose Hills Memorial Park in the Masonic Gardens. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Downey United Methodist Church.
